We're pleased to announce that following on from our sell out feast nights at the farm we're going to be taking over the cafe for 12 days - we'll be open and serving hot food 10am to 2.30pm every day from the 28th March to the 8th April.  We've created a fresh menu, with our usual focus on local, seasonal produce along with championing British sheep meats and dairy products and tasty vegetarian dishes.  

Mid-week menu:

  • Bircher muesli; oats, apple juice, Stepney City Farm poached rhubarb, yoghurt  (GF, V) - £5

  • Bacon sarnie: Ginger pig dry cure back bacon, lightly toasted sourdough bread, homemade tomato jam - £6

  • Stepney smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, sourdough toast - £7

  • Soup of the day w/ slice of sourdough bread and butter - £5 (GF, V)

    • Example: Beetroot w/ soured cream & pumpkin seeds

  • Toastie of the day - £6

    • Example: White Lake ‘Rustler’ (ewe’s cheese) & caramelised leek toastie
      Add Trealy Farm lamb & lemon merguez salami for £2

  • Pasta of the day - £6 (V)

    • Example: Stepney City farm rocket and cobnut (Kentish hazelnuts) pesto

  • Weekly Special: Lamb meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce, spiced Essex quinoa with roast beetroot and farm salad leaves, crumbled Medita (High Weald dairy feta like ewe's cheese) - £8

Weekend Brunch menu (including Easter Monday)

  • Eggs Benedict 3 ways: 2 pieces of sourdough toast, topped with wilted Stepney City Farm kale, 2 poached eggs and homemade hollandaise sauce and your choice of the following: - £9 (half and half options available)

    • Grilled High Weald Dairy (Sussex) ewe's milk Halloumi (organic, V)

    • Stepney Smoked Salmon

    • 72hr Confit shoulder of Hogget w/ tomato jam (Hogget is lamb over a year old, slightly deeper and more complex in flavour, in this case it's been marinaded in salt and fresh herbs for 24hrs then cooked 'sous vide' for 48hrs to create a delicious confit style meat that falls off the bone)

  • Shakshuka: 2 eggs baked in a rich and spicy tomato sauce, served with sourdough toast - £6.50
    • Add grilled Merguez (lamb and beef) sausage - £2
